Hutt City Spatial Plan - In Progress

Development of a Spatial Plan for Hutt City territorial area. 

Hutt City Council did not have a current spatial plan, or cohesive vision to guide the cities growth. 

Existing strategic documents, each outlining different facets of the city's development needed to come together with a longer term view of 30 + years);

Synthesize diverse perspectives, align strategies, and create a cohesive roadmap for the city's holistic growth in close collaboration with council teams to outline a clear plan for how the city should grow over the next 30 years; this included key strategic moves as well as specific actions to be complete. An outcomes based approach ensures that it is a long term and enduring document that will not become outdated as regulatory and policy environments change. 

Our journey involved striving for best practice in spatial planning, ensuring a plan that encompassed all aspects of the city's future evolution, from social infrastructure and resilience to transportation, from cultural celebration to housing intensification. Managing the interplay between land use, infrastructure, environmental considerations, community needs, and economic development, all while aligning with city policies and visions.
