Project Details
TUA supported NZ Police with staff engagement, design, and visioning of a future Hamilton Police Hub.
New Zealand Police wanted to use the development of the new station as an opportunity to enact its strategy of making stations more community focused.
TUA planned and facilitated workshops with mana whenua (Waikato Tainui), representative groups, service providers, and police staff to understand the role of the police hub in the community, and the needs of the hub to fit with NZ Police’s strategic direction - including Te Huringa o Te Tai, and Police Presence in Communities report.
Working with Police and other project stakeholders, we developed an evaluation framework to assess possible development criteria and designs for the new Hamilton Police Hub. A process of categorising and prioritising design interventions was undertaken to assist Police in developing a business case to support the build of the Hamilton Police hub.
