Establishing an affordable Kāinga programme in Te Taitokerau.
Te Pae Roa (TPR) needed support to secure $2.5m funding from EECA for a repairs programme, prepare the project planning documentation and establish the programme.
The Urban Advisory supported TPR to secure the funding by developing the plan to establish the Kaupapa Management Offices (KMO) for the ‘Repairs’ Programme. This involved supporting TPR with funding proposals to philanthropic investors, based on a new framework for assessing impact, embedded in te ao māori to mainstream investors.
The funding was secured and repairs programme established in a way that lays the foundations for the development of a broader housing programme in the region, that will attract philanthropic and impact investment and enables a decentralised decision making and delivery structure which benefits whānau, hapū, iwi across Te Taitokerau. It aims to support the community and whānau to identify, develop and lead solutions for appropriate housing and energy retrofits in Te Taitokerau, and to shift the dial for the wellbeing of whānau in Te Taitokerau.
