An accelerated activation strategy to improve pedestrian and cycling permeability and safety. This strategy also included placemaking intervention to transform areas into vibrant and attractive destinations for residents.

Developing critical public transport associated with significant urban development helps improve urban innovation and paves the way for similar transformations across the country. It was essential that this project involved innovative thinking across all stages of the process.

TUA developed an Accelerated Activations strategy for a significant urban transport project. This included a Temporary Use Concept Plan for an area that sought to improve safety, enhance connectivity and strengthen the sense of community, pride and belonging.

It turned an underutilised area into a vibrant hub while improving cycling and pedestrian access. By incorporating design elements such as wider sidewalks, bike lanes, seating, activities, pop-up events, etc., the area becomes more attractive. Creating public space art and community interaction opportunities fosters a lively atmosphere, drawing people in and promoting a sense of belonging.
